We are looking for a Radiologic Technologist - National Union of Health Workers for the Radiology-Diagnostic Department at Queen of the Valley Medical Center.

Location: Napa, CA 
Work Schedule: On call/Per diem
Shift: 8 hour, Days (Variable)

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Radiologist or Physician designee, Radiology Coordinator, Radiology Manager, and Imaging Director and with latitude for independent judgment, performs all the professional duties involved in applying ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis at the technical level. Acts in compliance with Federal, State, and Joint Commission standards. Produces and evaluates images and related data to be used by physicians to render medical diagnosis. Performs related clerical tasks and assumes responsibility for coordinating exams performed.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzes patient’s general body type, physical condition, and suspected pathology to set technical factors and adjust specialized radiographic equipment to apply ionizing radiation for the production of prescribed radiographs and fluoroscopy.
  • Practices radiation safety techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff. Adheres to medical center patient safety policies. Identifies patient by checking arm band, verifies written orders, uses proper film identification and marks films correctly.
  • Reviews physician orders and records all pertinent information. Evaluated image quality and necessary documentation.
  • Performs routine quality control, troubleshoots malfunctions, and arranges for equipment service as necessary.
  • Participates in departmental quality assurance.
  • Provides appropriate education for patient, families, and other healthcare providers.
  • Participates in the supervision and evaluation of students.
  • Anticipates patient and physician procedural needs.
  • Has access to and administers and/or handles medications according to this position’s license or certification standards and medical center policy.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education: Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement. 

Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Current California license for Radiologic Technology (CRT-R).
  • Current California license for Fluoroscopy (CRT-F) must be acquired within 3 months of obtaining position.
  • Current Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology-AART (R).
  • Current BLS certification.
