We are looking for a Patient Tranporter for the Radiology Admin Department at St. Joseph Hospital Orange.

Location: Orange, CA 
Work Schedule: On call/Per diem
Shift: 8 hour, Variable


Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the department supervisor, the transporter will transport patient to and from the designated departments.  The patient transporter will also provide assistance to the technical and clerical staff when necessary.


Essential Functions:

  • In collaboration with nursing, ensures that the patient is prepared to transfer; identifies and transports patients. Keeps staff up to date on patient needs.
  • Works effectively with other departments to maintain effective patient flow. Helps with RIE process and improvements.
  • Performs restocking of linen and patient supplies for the procedure rooms consistently and around patient flow.
  • Cleans transport equipment as necessary. Stores transport equipment within the department when not in use.  Maintains adequate levels of portable oxygen cylinders. Demonstrates efficient and cost effective use of supplies.
  • Assures the proper handling, processing and return of sterilize items from central processing.



  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately.
  • Ability to respond to patient needs.
  • Ability to work with difficult patients.


Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education: H.S. Diploma or GED

Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support Certification
