Covenant Health is seeking an on call, day shift Health Screener with the Emergency Preparedness LRMC Department at Covenant Health System.

Job Summary:
The Health Screener is responsible for providing a welcoming and safe experience to all who come to Covenant Health. The Health Screener is responsible for providing temperature and symptom screening of patients, visitors, caregivers, and vendors who enter the facility. Responsibilities include communicating entry requirements, screening those who meet requirements and upholding facility and visitor policy standards. The Health Screener reports to work for the duration of the shift, performs all safety screening procedures, assists in station maintenance, and escalates any concerns to the core leader. This position is responsible for ensuring that every guest experiences a welcoming and positive first impression.They are responsible for implementing new processes that ease the way of our patients and visitors.

Essential Functions:

  • Report to assigned station, check and prepare station for readiness. Restock materials as needed
  • Do appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and follow applicable protocol
  • Review training documents and familiarize with any changes to processes related to screening responsibilities at start of each shift. Specifically review the Guest Services Representative Checklist and continuous use documents
  • Communicate and check in/out visitors in accordance with facility visitation policy
  • Utilize the resource documents and logarithm for script when addressing public
  • Screen individuals using specific steps outlined in facility procedures
  • Become familiar with facility layout and understand specialty of each department and learn key contacts to appropriately route inquiries
  • Coordinate with units/departments to collect patient items that may have been dropped off by family or friends and to arrange for escort for patients seeking treatment. Partner with other caregivers for assistance/support/instruction as needed
  • Escalate concerns or any specific needs throughout shift to Onsite Manager or House Supervisor. Understand appropriate escalation paths and partner with other caregivers as required and appropriate
  • Ensure a welcoming first impression is met every time with every guest by using our Service Excellence Standards.
  • Ease the way for out guest using great communication and way finding skills.
  • Completes other duties as assigned
  • Implement new processes as directed by leaders.
  • Create and maintain the surrounding environment in an effort to enhance experience

Preferred Position Qualifications:


  • H.S. Diploma or GED


  • 6 months Customer service or other relevant experience
