We are looking for an Equipment Technician for our Respiratory & Pulmonary Therapy Department at St. Jude Medical Center.

Location: Fullerton, CA

Schedule: Full Time - 80 biweekly hours

Shift: 8-hour, Days


Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Respiratory Services Manager or designee Equipment Pool Technician, will maintain respiratory equipment and supplies necessary to provide care to SJMC patients.

Essential Functions:

  • Inventories, order, receives, stocks all areas of hospital with adequate supplies to meet the respiratory needs of the patients, and facilitates repair/maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains accurate equipment records/logs, inventory lists and receiving slips.
  • Identifies and responds to inventory and equipment needs in all areas served by the Respiratory Department.
  • Orders, maintains adequate inventory, transports compressed gases and devices safely and accurately.
  • Performs daily cylinder rounds throughout the facility; replacing cylinders as necessary.
  • Notifies manager or designee of equipment, supplies and/or back order (inventory) problems and offers solutions to issues concerning the department.
  • Performs disinfection of reusable equipment, prepares equipment for reprocessing, assemblies and tests equipment for proper function. Assists RCP with equipment transportation as available.


  • Computer skills.
  • Good Interpersonal skills.
  • Self-directed, organized, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with dignity and respect.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with respiratory care or services.


Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education: H.S. Diploma or GED

License/Certification: American Heart BLS Healthcare Provider level.


Preferred Position Qualifications:

Experience: Hospital or other related experience.
