JOB SUMMARY:

Reviews, interprets, and evaluates medication orders for appropriateness.  Responsible for the filling and dispensing of medication orders including the proper handling, usage, and storage of drugs in the pharmacy. Maintains the drug distribution system and supervises technical staff to ensure effective operation and service. Monitors drug therapy, intervene as appropriate, and promotes rational and cost-effective drug therapy selection to optimize outcomes. Performs other relevant clinical, quality assurance, and performance improvement activities.  Participates in departmental education and training as appropriate. Maintains departmental standards and translates policies and procedures into the daily operation of the pharmacy. Serves as a drug information resource to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Communicates and interacts effectively with co-workers and the healthcare team.


** Seeking a full time Clinical Pharmacist with previous ED experience**  

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one to two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital preferred.

License/Certification:

  • Current CA Pharmacist license, current AHA BLS certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • Experience as a pharmacist in a healthcare setting

License/Certification:

  • ASHP accredited residency preferred
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification.
