We are looking for a Charge Capture Coordinator for the Perioperative Admin Department at St. Mary Medical Center.
 
Location: Apple Valley, CA
Work Schedule:  Full Time - 80 Biweekly Hours
Shift: 8-hour, Days
 
Job Summary:
Researches and enters appropriate billing and charge data into EPIC, MEDITECH, PICIS  for manual  and/or complex  provider services that are not captured in  the  EPIC system,   May perform charge corrections to assist in re-filing denied claims.  Responsible  for  balancing  the  batch at the end of the day.  Provides charge capture feedback on issues to the  coding analysts and  manager.  Responsible  for on  the  job  training for,  work  review and simple complaint resolution under the direction of  supervisor,  and  in  accordance with  supervisor's  guidelines.  Ensures  data  entry  accuracy and  efficiency.  Also responsible for  time-sensitive research  and  resolution  of missing charges.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Acts as liaison for coding analyst and coding manager with clinical staff regarding charge capture processes and/or issues.  Runs missing charge report as directed.  Assists coding analyst with obtaining information to add missing charges.  Enters the corrected information into EPIC, Meditech, PICIS.
  • Researches and enters billing and charge data for all provider services not captured in EPIC.
  • Flexible, able to adapt to changing work schedule and workload.
  • Informs the Manager/Supervisor about customer issues or complaints in a timely manner.  Follows up or provides appropriate feedback, as directed.
  • Ensures that daily operations of the unit or department are accomplished through established protocols.
  • Performs other charge corrections as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements:
Education: H.S. Diploma or GED
Experience: Secretarial or clerical experience.
 
Preferred Position Qualifications:
Education: Associate's Degree
Experience:
  • 1 year Hospital clerical experience.
  • Admitting and/or insurance billing experience in hospital or physician’s office.
  • 3 years experience with OR specific peri-op, scheduling, and patient charging software/systems.
