We are looking for a Associate Clerk Receiving and Distribution with a $1,000 Sign-On Bonus for the SJoHMG Chapman Family Practice Department at St. Joseph Heritage Healthcare.
 
Location: Orange, CA
Work Schedule:  Full Time - 80 Biweekly Hours
Shift: 8-hour, Days
 
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the medical office manager, the Materials Tech I performs all assigned distribution duties.  The duties include: receiving, delivering, and storing of equipment and supplies in Receiving, supply issue and returns in Central Supply and all supply locations, and inventory management activities in Central Supply and all floor inventory locations. 
 
Essential Functions:
  • Accurately receives and documents all supplies delivered to the medical office.  Delivers same supplies obtaining appropriate documents and signatures.  Prepares outgoing shipments with necessary documents to correct carrier.  Prepares and secures all necessary documents, working with Purchasing to deal with any supply delivery issues.
  • Maintains clean, safe environment, storing all supplies in proper location, operating forklift and handles equipment safely.
  • Issues stock accurately to requestors in a timely fashion.  Retrieves excess stock as needed.  Documents activities in log sheet.
  • Performs inventory management activities such as stock issues, stock credits with accurate, appropriate documentation and enters information in PMM systems in timely fashion.  Informs Supervisor of any change in supply usage for necessary supply level adjustments.
  • Performs cycle counts and reconcile to on-hand inventory in Central Supply and all supply locations.  Maintains proper stock rotation checking for expiration dates, removing expired stock and informing Purchasing for appropriate action.
  • Replenishes procedural carts and storage rooms daily, as needed.
  • Assists Clinical floor managers by stocking critical areas to assure adequate stock levels with regard to current census and divisional needs.
  • Uses hand-held devices to assist with inventory activities in Par Excellence and PMM.
  • Delivers needed clinical equipment to requested location in timely manner.  Maintains all necessary documentation for tracking and charging purposes
 
Skills:
  • Knowledge of Material Management practices in a hospital setting.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Able to read and write and respond to customers with good customer service skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with management, employees both internal and external to the department.
  • Prioritize assignments and tasks effectively.
  • Able to function effectively and professionally in an environment of unpredictable situations.
  • Must be a self-starter
 
Preferred Position Qualifications:
Experience:
  • 2 years Hospital or ambulatory setting.
  • Distribution activities.
